- ARM Mission Statement

The America Reads-Mississippi (ARM) state staff is a part of the Office of Academic and Student Affairs at the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning and is housed in the Education and Research Building in Jackson. The central staff oversees and monitors all aspects of programmatic, fiscal, and administrative program components to ensure that the program is in compliance with federal and state laws and meets and exceeds program goals.

America Reads-Mississippi (ARM) also maintains a strong partnership with six Mississippi public universities with regional offices located on the campuses of Alcorn State University, Delta State University, Jackson State University, Mississippi State University, the University of Mississippi, and the University of Southern Mississippi, engaging ARM members in the campus community on a regular basis.

ARM is the largest AmeriCorps program in Mississippi and is in the operation of its 15th program year. ARM is administered and supported by the Mississippi Commission for Volunteer Services (MCVS) and the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL).
